May saw some colder mornings, darker nights but the work ethic remained the same. Winter is generally the time when it’s easy to make fitness less of a priority. The idea of curling up in bed or in front of the TV is all too appealing, but what I love in these colder months is the character shown by our members.
Seeing people committed to their training show up each day (5am’ers… RESPECT!) And get their bodies moving. I love it!
So last month we started our Deadlift cycle, tested a few benchmark workouts and it all culminated with some pretty brutal workouts in the last week.
What We’re Doing In June
We are continuing our work on the Deadlift and working towards a 1RM test in the last week of the month. There’s a good balance of long and short ENGINE workouts, with the benchmark workout KAREN popping her head up in there too.
You’ll see a fair amount of upper body pulling work to strengthen pull-ups and muscle up technique, with the climbing ropes getting some use too.
Keep up the hard work CFB! You’re killing it at the moment, and I love the energy you guys bring to the box for yourselves and each other.
Don’t forget the climb up Mt Warning on the 18th of June followed by lunch at the Mt Warning hotel.
